WINDSOR, CO - (October 28, 2011)
Windsor’s Winter Storm - Trees Limbs and Branches Clean Up
This week’s storm caused significant damage to Windsor. The Town of Windsor will be providing FREE pickup of downed limbs and branches, working in various parts of the Town on Various days.
Town Clean Up Schedule:
Trees located on private property are the responsibility of the property owner. The Town recommends utilizing an International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) Certified insured and bonded tree contractor to perform work in trees if necessary. Town crews will evaluate trees located in the public right of way and address safety issues as appropriate.
Beginning October 31, 2011, Town crews and contractors will pick up curbside. Residents should have tree limbs and branches in the street at the curb by 7:00am on the morning of the date indicated. Areas and dates are indicated on the Zone Map and Schedule as follows
- Green Zone ready by 7am on October 31, 2011
- Red Zone ready by 7am on November 1
- Tan Zone ready by 7am on November 2
- Purple Zone ready by 7am on November 7
- Yellow Zone ready by 7am on November 9
Crews will move through zone areas and pass on a street only once. It is imperative that vehicles be removed from the area to allow unobstructed access for equipment and crews. Residents are advised to obey traffic CONE ZONES. Streets will be blocked temporarily for safety while crews are at work.
Self Clean Up:
The Town has designated three drop off zones for tree limbs and branches. These sites are also indicated on the Zone Map and listed below:
- Diamond Valley Brush Site (901 Diamond Valley Drive)
- Chimney Park Pool parking lot (421 Chimney Park Drive)
- North West corner of 15th Street and Walnut Street
The sites will be available until November 14, 2011, with the exception of Diamond Valley Brush and Recycle site which will be open FREE of charge through the end of the year.
Community Assistance:
Town crews cannot perform work on private property. If you are in need of assistance, please consider the following resources:
- United Way (call 2-1-1; coordinates those who need assistance with volunteers)
- Latter Day Saints (970-231-4488 for those who need assistance on 10-29-11 ONLY)
- Neighbors (much like our tornado recovery, we encourage you to take appropriate safety precautions when you assist your neighbor)
Closures:
Parks and trails are considered unsafe; parks and trails are closed until safety evaluations and trimming can be completed. Beware of snow laden or cracked branches.

Job growth (2000-2010): 41.2%
Larimer County just scored an ACE in the hole. In April, NASA chose Loveland for its Aerospace and Clean Energy Manufacturing Innovation Park. Partially funded by the space agency, the ACE park is expected to house 100 aerospace and clean energy companies and could create 7,000 regional jobs and 10,000 statewide.
Larimer County was a natural choice for the ACE Park. The area is already home to major tech companies like Hewlett Packard, Intel and AMD, many of which have strong ties to research facilities at Colorado State University. And the park is set to be built on a former campus for Agilent Technologies.
Tourism is also a main draw for the area. The Rocky Mountain National Park draws an estimated 4 million nature lovers to the town of Estes Park each summer. Local businesses want to make that tourist economy year round with plans for a 50-acre adventure park.
